Smoke, Fire & Maine‑Grown.
Grass-fed burgers and slow-smoked barbecue, made from scratch with meat from farms within 30 miles of our door.
Real Barbecue. Real Farms. Real Close to Home.
George’s opened in 2024 in an old brick machine shop on Main Street with one idea: the best burger and barbecue in Maine should come from Maine. Our beef, pork and chicken are raised on family farms just down the road. Our brisket spends 16 hours over Maine hardwood. Our pickles, sauces and cornbread are made in-house every morning. And we list every ingredient and every calorie on our menu, because you should know exactly what you’re eating.
Plus smoked wings, burnt ends, a vegetarian garden burger, scratch sides, Maine wild blueberry cobbler and a bar pouring local drafts, hard cider and more than 40 bourbons.

What Our Guests Are Saying
“Best brisket I’ve had north of Boston. The bark alone is worth the drive to Westbrook.”
Pull up a chair. Stay awhile.
This isn’t a drive-thru. It’s 140 seats of exposed brick, reclaimed wood and leather booths under warm Edison lights, a 16-tap bar, and a covered patio when the weather turns. Real plates, real glassware, and nobody rushing you out the door.
